SJCFR joined with Jacksonville Fire & Rescue, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and the staff at Pacetti Bay middle school this morning to recognize 11 students involved in a school bus accident last month. The students were honored by each agency for their bravery and quick actions in the moments immediately following the crash. These students managed to keep calm while evacuating the bus, calling 911 and providing medical aid to fellow students who had sustained injuries. The information they provided to 911 dispatchers played a significant role in getting the appropriate resources to the accident scene as quickly as possible.
From SJCFR and all the public safety agencies represented, we want to thank each student for your actions that morning, we are extremely proud of you. Thank you also to Pacetti Bay middle school and Principal Jay Willets for hosting this recognition ceremony for your students.
