JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Donald Trump, perhaps the most polarizing 2016 presidential candidate, is making a campaign stop in Jacksonville next Saturday, a campaign spokesperson confirmed to First Coast News.

Trump, who’s led the polls for Republican voters, will hold a rally at The Jacksonville Landing at noon on Saturday, Oct. 24.

A spokesperson for the Landing told First Coast News the doors will open at 10 a.m. and the event is free of charge. The campaign has put out an EventBrite event to sign up for tickets.

A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesperson declined to comment on the security and road closure plans ahead of the event, saying details will be released as needed.

Residents have mixed opinions about the rally.

“It will bring a lot of people, it will be good reaction. Things are going to stir up and that is what politics is all about, I love it,” said Thomas Landy.

“He is definitely popular and presents some good ideas, but when it is all put together, it’s not going to happen,” said Steven Horzewski.

More details are expected to be released next week.
